Vincent 's Ones To Watch
Day Day (IRE)

Started favourite for a Leopardstown bumper on his debut in January 07, but finished well beaten. He showed nothing on his first two starts in maiden hurdles, but there was definite promise in his close up 8th to stablemate Mr Muji at Navan in November and now that the son of Sadler's wells is qualified for handicaps he should find life easier.

Francis Du Mesnil (FR)

Should win a handicap hurdle off his present mark. He won a bumper on his debut at Thurles and following three moderate runs in maiden hurldes showed improved form on his handicap debut at Gowran. In the Gowran race he was staying on from off the pace when he made a mess of the second last flight and eventually finished fifth to Maucaillou.

Voler La Vedette (IRE)

This Colm Murphy trained 4-y-o made a very pleasing debut at Punchestown in May on good ground. Held up well off the pace she stayed on strongly from over 1f out to finish third to New Phase and Door Boy. Given normal improvement she will have no trouble landing a bumper.

Dragon Lady (IRE)

Has shown enough on her two most recent starts to suggest that she will be winning soon. She has travelled well in big field maidens at the Curragh, gaining valuable experience. She appears to need cut in the ground.

Beauthea (IRE)

Is a certainty to lose her maiden tag judged on her debut performance in a decent maiden at Navan in April. She walked out of stalls in a five furlong race and was well adrift early on. She picked up inside the final furlong and was cutting down the leaders close home only for the line to come too soon.

Whispering Wind (IRE)

Joanna Morgan's five-year-old caught the eye when staying on under tender handling in a five furlong maiden at Navan at the end of April. She had previous finished second over hurdles so I imagine the trip at Navan was too sharp. She is worth following both on the flat and over hurdles.

Paul Kristian (GB)

Paul Kristian is worth following in novice hurdles this year. His rider fell foul of the stewards on his hurdles debut when second at Cork. He was an impressive winner of his only pt-to-pt and showed up well in a bumper at Gowran Park on his other start.

Rock Of Tarik (IRE)

Is worth following after his display at Dundalk on the opening night of the season. From a very good family his form looked modest on his previous starts, but now gelded he may yet reach his potential. He appeared to falter somewhat when hitting the front, but there was no doubting his ability and he should win more races.

Kempes (IRE)

Produced an eye-catching display on his hurdles debut at Naas in early February. He was a consistant sort on the flat, only out of the money once when top-weight for the Ulster Derby. At Naas he jumped well and finished strongly when 4th to Peplum. The first four were well clear of the remainder and the form looks strong.
