Race Analysis

BRANDAM, according to winning trainer Eamonn Sheehy "is ordinary but honest" and he displayed admirable battling skills to win here. The winner needs a test of stamina and was ridden the right way. He can pick up a similar event again.

LE SPARNACIEN was a big gamble and was unlucky to come up against such a tough rival. The gelding had been placed once in a point to point before being noted staying on late in a few maiden hurdles. He looks sure to win from his current mark in a similar race.

BLANCHFIELD has dropped to a favourable mark and she can win again.

SOME CRAIC looks a future winner too and stayed on in the straight. He did not show a lot before winning two point to points and can figure in a similar event.

NATIVE VIC was beaten very early while front running KILMURRIN COVE went out alarmingly quickly once headed.

Non-Runners were the three reserves.
