Race Analysis

BURREN BEN had no difficulty winning this following the falls of the well backed CHIEF OSCAR and ARCTIC BEAR five out. Both fallers appeared to hold solid chances at the time but would have done well to beat the winner.

BURREN BEN had previously fallen on three consecutive occasions but trainer Charles Byrnes, did stated "BURREN BEN is a super jumper of fences and was just unlucky to fall when he did. He really attacks his fences and likes this better ground."

MCALPINE raced prominently but had no answer to the winner. This was his chase debut, and while he may need to improve to win a beginners chase, a handicap is well within his range.

BEN ADAM's rider deserves great credit for getting his mount into the placings as he was hard at work on the gelding for most of the race. BEN ADAM does not look the most enthusiastic and is probably flattered by his chase mark of 100.

ORGE D'ETE did not jump well and will need to return to his best to figure in a similar race.

Non-Runners were the three reserves.
